Who We Are
Marguerite M. Dorn, Esq., serves as the inaugural Faculty Ombuds at PC. Prior to establishing the Office of Faculty Ombuds, Marguerite worked as an attorney and peacebuilder along the spectrum of conflict resolution – from trial monitoring in situations of mass atrocity to mediating disputes within workplaces and across kitchen tables. (Marguerite is admitted to the MA Bar; however, she does not provide legal advice in the Ombuds role.)
Throughout her career, Marguerite has maintained a campus presence, and she has significant experience in teaching doctrinal and skills-based law courses. She founded and ran one of the first clinical programs focusing on international humanitarian and human rights law, at Suffolk University Law School, in Boston. More recently, Marguerite taught law students at Boston University how to communicate effectively within situations of conflict and high emotionality.
Marguerite is an invited speaker in fora related to conflict resolution processes. She is an active member of the International Ombuds Association, and she practices to the professional standards propounded by that body. She is available for individual consultations, conflict and communication coaching, group work, facilitated meetings, mediations, shuttle diplomacy and presentations on conflict management topics.
